All-Russian Seminar with International Participation on Jet, Separated and Non-Steady Flows

Jet SPB 2018

The All-Russian Seminar on Jet, Separated and Non-Steady Flows exists more than 50 years. It was found by Prof. Isaak P. Ginzburg (1910-1979), prominent professor of Leningrad State University and Baltic State Technical University (former Leningrad Mechanical Institute). Staff members of universities and other educational institutions, engineering bureaus, scientific and industrial organizations that are involved in basic and applied problems of fluid and plasma mechanics traditionally take part in our meetings. The XXV All-Russian (with international participation) seminar will be held in St. Petersburg in September 11-14, 2018.

We intend to discuss new results of the theoretical, numerical and experimental research of liquid, gas and plasma flows, as well as their applications to aviation and space engineering, security and safety problems, as well as other fields of human activity.

Technical Scope

The main areas of interest of our seminar are:

  1. Steady jet and wake flows
  2. Separated flows and problems of aerodynamics
  3. Non-steady flows, aeroacoustics and hydro acoustics
  4. Nozzle and channel flows, internal ballistics
  5. Shock and blast waves, interaction of discontinuities in gas dynamics
  6. Two-phase and multiphase flows
  7. Non-equilibrium flows and processes, combustion and detonation
  8. Rarefied gas dynamics
  9. Jet technologies, ecological problems, problems of security and safety
  10. Computational aspects of fluid mechanics and plasma dynamics

The working languages of the seminar are Russian and English.

The book of collected abstracts will be published prior to the seminar opening ceremony. We plan also to publish the selected proceedings of the seminar after its closing. We also will recommend some selected papers for publication in the following Russian scientific journals: “Proceedings of the Russian Academy of Rocket and Artillery Science”, “Problems of Technosphere Risk Management”, and “Problems of Military Engineering. Series 16, and also in English in “Acta Astronautica” journal (category “Space Physical Science”), that can be found at the first quartile of the most influential and highly cited journals according to SCOPUS and Web of Science.
